GRAPHIC ARTS
*PAUSE*
In addition to my work as a writer, I am also a graphic artist.
Drawing from my life-long journey with medical rehabilitation, I explore themes of recovery, acceptance, and discovery in my art. As a person with a neuromuscular disability, I find that graphic design is an art form that allows me space for imagination & creativity. My art is an extension of my writing, and my work explores the interplay of words and imagery.
I am also currently completing my training to become a
(REAT)- Registered Expressive Arts Therapist at the Center For Creative Arts Therapy in Chicago.
Exploring expressive art forms is central to my therapeutic practice.
I like working with a bold color palette and with a font that reflects natural handwriting.
All my prints start with a frame of color, representing my worldview: We each come from unique contexts of time,
place, and history.

UPCOMING ART EXHIBIT
"Recovery, Unfolding, Discovery " - Art Exhibit
I will be partnering with the Rockland Independent Living Center (dba) BRIDGES for an Art Exhibit Fundraiser. BRIDGES was founded in 1987 under the name Rockland Independent Living Center (RILC). It is a community-based, peer-driven, cross-disability, not - for-profit organization dedicated to advocacy and leadership on behalf of people with disabilities. JULY is the yearly anniversary of the signing of the ADA and it is my great privilege to showcase my art for an incredible organization advocating for the independence, social justice & equality for persons with disabilities. (Exhibit Date pending COVID restrictions)
